An Astonishing Antique Composite Balustrade Rejuvenation
Project Background
This customer came to us looking to rejuvenate and breathe new life into their balcony space. The previous timber balcony project had been built in 2006. Whilst it had initially appeared to be an attractive garden build, after years of weathering, both the decking and balustrades had become discoloured and rotten. As a result, a replacement was needed to still have the same feel and texture of timber, not only working with the existing theme and design of the garden, but also have the longevity and sturdiness the previous iteration of the balcony lacked.
The balcony space was 50 square metres and raised over a metre above a hard garden floor and patio. With young children using the garden regularly, the rotten border to the balcony would have to be replaced for safety reasons.

Our Proposal
Our approved installers at Bristol Decking Solutions decided to completely rip away the timber balcony, completely replacing it with our antique balustrade and composite deck paring. The balustrades were specified as they matched perfectly with the decking, and served as a rigid, long lasting protective border to the edge of the balcony. The end result is a seamless, well-designed transition from their indoor and outdoor space, allowing the customer a further peace of mind that the new composite balustrade was a safe yet functional, building regulations compliant, garden structure.
