How Composite Balustrades Completed This Raised Garden Decking Transformation
Project Background
This raised garden space needed a smart solution to accommodate the slope up to the house. Previously, the incline had been worked around with a tiered patio installation of masonry and concrete slabs. Many years passed, and the original build started to break down while continuing to be difficult to maintain and clean due to the tiered nature of the design. The replacement would need to be a modern, smart upgrade to the original build, with low maintenance to make upkeep easier. The space needed to be protected with a safe and secure border for the young children, to prevent any falls from the high drop.

Our Proposal
Rather than remove and painstakingly dismantle the existing patio build, our approved installers at Proud Gardens instead suggested building a raised deck above the steps, transforming the space beneath the timber subframe and plastic joists into a storage area. In its place, our Antique balustrade rails were chosen to colour match the decking boards, making use of both the decking and stair applications for the railing. The completed project was pictured framed with our Charcoal boards, cut down to size to work around the edge of the conservatory, and adorned by dark rattan furniture, to create a brilliant, naturalistic contrast.
