WPC Fence Panels: What They’re Made Of & How They Benefit Your Fencing Project

NeoTimber's WPC fence panels, like our decking, cladding, and balustrades, are made from composite material. WPC, or a wood-plastic composite, is made from a mixture of recycled plastic fibres and timber offcuts. This mixture helps the material lock out moisture due to its plastic content, and keeps a natural, realistic look and feel due to the wood. In this article, we take a look at the core advantages and qualities of our WPC fence panels, and how they fit into our complete wood plastic composite fence system. Let's take a look...

Extra Protection, Great Looks

It can be difficult to decide what fencing product to use for your outdoor space, as there are many material options on the market. Traditional timber, concrete, and even plastic fencing can look wonderful when initially installed, but how do you know if you've made a wise investment? Timber, if left untreated or unpainted, can rot, warp, and fade, whilst plastic fencing can become discoloured and brittle. Concrete is a long-lasting material, but can look utilitarian, plain, and - dare we say - boring. Is it possible to find an attractive fencing material that lasts the test of time?

Here's the solution; NeoTimber's WPC fence panels are both stylish and long-lasting. Both our Deluxe and Slatted fencing options are made from capped composite material, which protects the composite core with an additional plastic layer. Even "first generation" WPC fencing panels will not have this extra layer, and as a result, are more prone to moisture damage, such as mould and mildew, or discolouration. In contrast, our capped material is infused with UV inhibitors, to minimise the effects of fading when exposed to direct sunlight. Helpfully, the capped surface also makes our WPC garden fencing extremely easy to clean. All you'll need is a sponge or a lint-free cloth, with a bucket of hot, soapy water, or alternatively, a hosepipe.

Timber is often specified for fencing due to its visual appeal. However, as stated, timber fencing can rapidly deteriorate, becoming a garden eyesore rather than a stylish backdrop to your outdoor space. As an alternative, NeoTimber's WPC fence panels are designed to look and feel like real timber fence boards. Our Deluxe composite fencing boards boast a deep, etched woodgrain effect on one side of the board, whereas our Slatted composite fencing option is designed to look like stacked timber battens. Both options are available in 5 vibrant colours, antique, teak, charcoal, chocolate, and grey, so you can enjoy a rich, modern colour without needing to painstakingly paint each individual post and panel.

Helpfully, all of our WPC fence board panels can be cut down to size, just like real timber. This means you can easily retrofit our wood plastic composite fence panels between any existing fencing posts if they are at a shorter distance than the standard 1.8m of our boards. We know the importance of getting your money's worth and making the most of what you already have. With NeoTimber's WPC fencing, you can upgrade your existing fencing project, and breathe new life into your outdoor space, whatever the installation application.

More Modular & Adaptable

Though our WPC garden fence panels are made from composite materials, much of the framework of our complete fencing system is made from metal, to give the finished product more structural stability. Even the composite fence post covers an internal metal post support, for additional security. The WPC fence panels are designed with a tongue-and-groove system, so they can easily stack on top of one another, housed within the channel of the composite post sleeve. We have also designed similar channels with our metal gate post, or with our inserts, so the wood plastic composite fence board can be fitted to an entrance to your space, or to pre-existing timber and concrete posts.

For further modular customisation, you also have the option to swap out the top two WPC fence panels for a metal fencing screen. Available in 4 designs, the fencing screens are powder coated to colour match the tone of your NeoTimber® fencing. Choose from our nature-inspired Leaf cut out, the smart, sharp Linear, the modern art-inspired Contemporary, or our kaleidoscopic, symmetrical Geometric. These fencing screens help to give your completed WPC fence panels an additional design flair, whilst allowing more light and airflow to enter your outdoor space. At NeoTimber®, understand that every outdoor project is different, which is why our wood plastic composite fencing has been designed to fit around your design specifications, and not the other way around.
