What warranty comes with the Classic Lite range?
How do you install Classic Lite composite deck boards?
Is Classic Lite composite decking slip-resistant?
Yes, NeoTimber® Classic Lite deck boards are designed to provide dependable grip in both wet and dry conditions. One side features a detailed woodgrain texture, while the reverse offers grooved channels for enhanced traction and added design flexibility, ensuring secure footing in all weather.
Does this composite decking range expand and contract?
Yes, like all composite materials, Classic Lite deck boards expand and contract slightly with temperature changes. Allowing proper spacing during installation is essential to accommodate this movement. For full guidance, refer to the “Elements to Consider” section of our composite decking installation guide.
Do Classic Lite composite deck boards require specialist tools to install?
No, Classic Lite deck boards can be installed using standard woodworking tools, no specialist equipment is required. For a clean, professional finish, we recommend using NeoTimber’s hidden FastClip system, which ensures consistent spacing and secure fixing. Following our installation guide and video tutorials will also help achieve accurate fitting and long-term performance.
Can Classic composite deck boards be painted?
Painting or staining is not recommended. Classic Lite deck boards are designed as a low-maintenance alternative to timber, and traditional coatings will not properly adhere to the composite surface. The boards are manufactured to retain their finish without the need for additional treatments.
Does composite decking get hotter than timber in direct sunlight?
All decking materials heat up in direct sunlight, with colour having the greatest impact on surface temperature. Darker shades absorb more heat than lighter tones. In comparable colours, traditional timber can reach higher surface temperatures than NeoTimber® composite decking under the same conditions.
What’s the best way to clean and maintain composite decking?
Classic Lite decking is low-maintenance and easy to care for. For routine cleaning, simply use warm soapy water and a soft-bristled brush. For a deeper clean, a pressure washer (up to 3100 psi) can be used with a fan attachment, keeping the nozzle at least 300mm from the surface. For tougher grime, a composite cleaner such as Owatrol Compo-Clean can be applied. Cleaning twice a year is typically sufficient to keep your decking looking its best. There’s no need for painting, staining, or sealing. For further advice, refer to our cleaning and care guides.
How environmentally friendly are NeoTimber® Classic Lite deck boards?
NeoTimber® Classic Lite deck boards are manufactured using responsibly sourced wood fibres and recycled plastics, helping to reduce waste and reliance on virgin materials. The wood content is FSC® 100% certified, ensuring it is sourced from responsibly managed forests. Compared to traditional timber, which often requires ongoing treatments, these boards offer a low-maintenance, long-lasting solution, reducing the need for frequent replacement and supporting a more sustainable choice over time.
