Like all wood-plastic composites, NeoTimber® cladding expands and contracts slightly with temperature changes. This natural movement should be accounted for during installation, particularly when setting end-to-end board spacing. Is it possible to paint NeoTimber® cladding?
We do not recommend painting or staining NeoTimber® composite cladding. The boards are designed as a low-maintenance alternative to timber, and paints or stains will not adhere effectively to the capped surface. The Deluxe Brushed range is engineered to maintain consistent colour throughout its lifespan without the need for additional treatments.
What’s the best way to clean NeoTimber® composite cladding?
NeoTimber® composite cladding is designed to be low maintenance and easy to look after. A simple clean twice a year using warm soapy water and a soft-bristled brush will help keep the boards looking their best. For more thorough cleaning, a pressure washer can be used at up to 3100 psi to remove dirt and environmental build-up. Always use a fan nozzle and keep the spray at least 300mm from the surface to prevent damage. For tougher grime, a specialist composite cleaner such as Owatrol Compo-Clean can also be used. Is the Deluxe Brushed Composite Cladding Board fire-rated?
Yes, the NeoTimber® Deluxe Brushed cladding range is Class D fire-rated in accordance with BS EN 13501-1. This classification indicates a moderate contribution to fire and makes it suitable for certain low-rise applications when installed in line with relevant regulations. As with all composite cladding materials, it is combustible to a degree; however, the Class D rating provides consistent fire performance and added reassurance for appropriate installations.
