A Perfect Example Of A Landscaping Project Using Composite Decking To Truly Complement A Modern Install
Project Background
The brief for this project was simple: create a contemporary outdoor space that complements the indoors perfectly. The client was keen to transform their garden space utilising a contrast of materials to create a family-friendly alfresco dining and leisure space. The contemporary, modern look and feel that had been created with the help of external cladding and bi-fold doors on the property required a complementary solution outdoors, which was achieved with the installation of classic charcoal composite decking.
Inspired by the concept of bringing the indoors, outwards, the client was keen to have an outdoor flooring solution that would complement their internal floor. In addition to this, the client intended to integrate a hot tub into the space without it feeling too imposing. The client enlisted the help of Garden Dezign’s - Darren Angell to complete the landscaping work and he soon got to work coming up with the complete solution.

Our Proposal
A raised deck area that joined the indoor space with the outdoors fitted the brief perfectly. With the help of a post and joist framework, the deck area was raised to the appropriate height to ensure a seamless transition from the indoors, through the bi-folds, and onto the deck. NeoTimber’s Classic charcoal garden decking ticked the boxes when it came to colour as it provided a striking contrast with the light-coloured porcelain paving area and complimented the indoor flooring beautifully.
A neat stone perimeter that lay between the deck and the bi-folds, as well as a one-board picture-frame, provided an added dimension to the area, expertly framing the deck off. This neat picture frame design continued around the sunken hot tub, which discreetly sat within the deck. A perimeter step on two sides of the deck was expertly finished with NeoTimber’s composite decking edge board and allowed for a safe transition down to the lower sections of the garden. A perfect example of a landscaping project using composite decking to truly complement a modern install.
