Commercial Decking Upgrade With Holiday Park Deluxe Teak Decking At Bowbrook Lodge

Project Background

Nestled over Bowbrook and Meadow - the Bowbrook Lodge Holiday Park based in Worcestershire is a luxury camping and lodge facility that boasts exquisite countryside views and gives visitors an opportunity to unwind in the beautiful British countryside. A newly developed plot of lodges, glamping pods, and camping facilities, the development provides a luxury experience for visitors who are seeking a countryside break with a difference.

The developers of the site were keen to incorporate decked areas across all lodges and safari tents on the site, in order to provide guests with an opportunity to dine alfresco, relax and unwind in the open air outside their plots. While timber decking was used for the safari tents, it was felt that a more premium product was required for the luxury lodges. Not only this, but ongoing maintenance requirements of the park meant that a low-maintenance solution was preferred over alternative solutions and while other tropical, hardwood decking products had been considered, a composite decking solution seemed most suited.

Our Proposal

The project manager’s preference to opt for a composite solution with a premium finish instantly directed us to recommend the NeoTimber® Deluxe deck board. The dual-tone woodgrain finish of the product and the distinct finish of the teak colour worked perfectly with the look and feel of the lodges, matching its cladded fascia and timber balustrades. From a functional perspective, the capped design of the product provided the procurement team with added peace of mind.

A product that requires very little upkeep, has excellent stain resistance, and retains its colour year-after-year appealed to this application perfectly. At no point would these products require sanding, staining, or treating. Maintenance teams at the park would rarely be called upon to clean these products throughout the course of the year. The overall result was a product that worked well with visitors coming and going from the park and having almost constant use in the summer months.
