Project Background
Boxton Homes undertook a four-plot development in the picturesque village of Smalley in Derbyshire, showcasing the builder’s high standards and modern specification. Their latest project was designed to offer a premium standard of living. It combined modern architectural features with carefully selected materials to create homes that felt both contemporary and timeless. As part of the external design, the team wanted a cladding solution that would elevate the appearance of the properties while complementing the existing palette of render, dark window frames and high-quality external finishes.
A key priority for Boxton Homes was achieving visual consistency across the development without compromising the individuality of each plot. Timber was initially considered but discounted due to its susceptibility to fading and the maintenance demands associated with natural materials. They needed a cladding product that would provide a clean, modern finish, maintain its appearance over time and align with the company’s commitment to delivering bespoke, luxury homes. This led them to explore composite solutions that offered both aesthetic refinement and long-lasting durability suited to new-build environments.

Our Proposal
Following a detailed consultation at the NeoTimber® showroom, the Boxton Homes team selected the Slatted cladding profile in the Antique colour way for its warm tone and contemporary appearance. The chosen finish complemented the crisp render and the dark-framed windows and doors across the development, ensuring the cladding integrated naturally with the wider material palette. It was installed on both the front and rear elevations of each plot, giving the scheme a strong sense of continuity while helping each home maintain a clear architectural identity.
NeoTimber® trim options were used creatively throughout the build, providing distinctive framing around recessed windows, doorways and garage openings. These details added depth and definition to the façades without disrupting the clean, modern aesthetic. The completed installation delivered a cohesive, high-quality exterior. It supported Boxton Homes’ design ambitions and enhanced the development’s visual impact, while remaining low-maintenance and durable for the long term.
